A Brief Introduction to Numerology

NUMEROLOGY: A BRIEF INTRODUCTION

--- Mani Kashyap

Numerology is the study of the occult meaning of numbers and their influences on human life.
The word `Numerology’ is a combination of two Latin words-
NUMEROLOGY = NUMERUS + LOGOS
(Numbers) (Expression)

LIFE IS ALL ABOUT NUMBERS

Origin:
Numerology is as old as our most ancient civilization. Though the exact time can not be known but numbers are spoken of even in the ancient biblical literature and in Hindu mythological texts. However the first systematic study of numbers and their effects on us dates back to the Pythagoras period, between 569 and 470 BC (Estimated)

Pythagoras, the great Greek Mathematician and Philosopher is regarded as the father of numerology. Pythagoras said that the world is built upon the power of numbers and the entire universe is composed of mathematical patterns. All the things in the universe can be expressed through numbers. Each numbers corresponds to specific vibrations. So all our things, including our name, birth day etc can be expressed through numbers and subsequently can be used to determine personality, destiny and fortunes. Though Numerology has crossed a long way from the days of Pythagoras and
so many things has been written and rewritten on this subject, the basic principle remains the same .

The Pythagorean prayer started with- `Bless us, divine number, thou who generates gods and men...’

CHEIRO: THE NUMEROLOGIST OF MODERN TIMES-

The person who made numerology very popular across the world in
Born on 1st November, 1886 in Dublin, Ireland, Cheiro had a client list which include the names of persons like Mata Hari, Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde, Joseph Chamberlain,
Thomas Edison among others.

Wisdom says that the world came into being through – Sound, Harmony, Vibration & The spoken Word.
Of these four pillars of Life- Sound (outer world), Vibration & Spoken Word
(inner word), all can be expressed through numbers and when all these numbers are in Harmony then only life meets its ultimate fulfillment.
